Rob Turlinckx is 3 things.

Blue, Yellow and Red

The three primary colours that make up all other colours.

......

The backdrop.

Hi, I'm Khushi, a jr. growth marketer. I was struggling to find a UI/UX designer for our bootstrapped startup.

I looked at dribble, behance, slack channels, Linkedin (premium account), influencers posted our requirement, job sites, insta, fb.

I tried everything. Yet, no luck. Didn't want to go back to upwork or fiverr.

My next steps.

I asked Jessica (who works at GrowthMentor) to recommend mentors on the platform. That's how I found Rob.

I reached out.

This was his reply. You'd agree that he is unbelievably helpful and sweet.

But. It was already Wednesday and time was running out. I had to rush.

Rob reopened up his slots for the next day (Thursday). He even offered to work with me on a weekend! Who even does that these days?

Technical glitches found there way in but we started the session on time.

Our session went on for 45 minutes instead of 30. Which brings me to the my next point.

......

Rob is giving

I haven't met someone who's as willing to spill their trade secrets as Rob is.

  • He showed me where to look for designers.

  • How to weed out the bad ones from the good.

  • How to get started - resources, tools.

  • Plan B, Plan C

He asked me to book a second session to go over the ones I would shortlist. I was initially going to some of my friends from design school to do the vetting. Imagine my surprise when Rob offered to do just that.

And I don't have to pay?

What kind of sorcery is this?

Rob takes his role as a mentor on GrowthMentor very seriously. Literally replied to all my messages within minutes.

He made an extensive notion file after our call and sent me a list of resources that we covered during the call.

......

Rob is freaking talented.

  • One of the reasons why I can't hire him outside GrowthMentor 🙈.

  • I had 4 pages full of scribbled notes at the end of our session. So much content that, I swear, I couldn't have found no matter how hard I looked. Hopefully, if time permits, I'll pen those notes down and share them. But for now, all you need to do is book Rob on growthmentor and have one of the best mentoring sessions you'll ever have. Don't let me stop you.
